About Mariette

After earning a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Florida State University, I completed a Master's in Education from The University of West Florida. I taught high school science for many years before attending the Florida Institute of Technology to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). When my middle daughter began struggling with reading at preschool age, my husband and I sought out help from many sources. Through trial and error and many years, we finally were able to receive a diagnosis of dyslexia and secure help for our daughter. This daunting process lit a fire in me to help other families avoid the pitfalls, lost time, and heartache of seeking help for their struggling readers. I went back to school again, but this time to the University of Florida to become a Certified Dyslexia Specialist. I hope to provide not only reading assessments and diagnostic testing for dyslexia but also support to families as they navigate through the process of helping their learners succeed.
